Team, This is the first formal communication for our upcoming Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation event. Please read the information below carefully and respond with your intent to serve and/or with any questions you may have.
What: Crosswater Outfitters w/Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation When: March 23-25, 2018 Where: Thunderbird Resort, Lake Buchanan
The event schedule will be posted once it is finalized. You can expect it in the final formal email on the week of the event or in a supplemental email shortly thereafter.
At last year’s event, CWO staff did not meet guests until Saturday morning, and we had our salt covenant/welcome briefing on Friday night. We conducted the fish fry Saturday evening and although we had no guests Sunday morning, many of us stayed and fished. I can’t say for certain we will follow this same format, but it is likely that we will.
Please check your calendars and respond with the following information:
1. If you are attending, and are a captain bringing your boat. 2. If you are attending, and are available to be a deckhand - or are already the deckhand of one of our captains. 3. If you will require lodging at the event. (If this is the case, please also include Ed Hellon - email@example.com - on your response.) 4. If you have some sort of schedule restriction. Arrival Notes:
More details will follow. Last year, we did not stay at Thunderbird, but we did have the welcome briefing there. Once John Williams has firm attendance numbers, we will finalize this.
Directions: Take TX-29 west from Georgetown to Burnet. On the west side of Burnet, turn right on Farm to Market Rd 2341 and travel almost 7 miles. Then turn left on Greenwood Hills Trail. This road ends at Thunderbird. Google Maps and Apple Maps are confirmed to both be accurate for this trip. Note that there is no cell phone signal at Thunderbird, but GPS should still work. Lodging: Will come in a later email (see above) Docking: Thunderbird has 14(?) slips available for use, so we should have plenty of docking room the entire weekend. There are electrical outlets at the dock. Bait: Bait should be moving up shallow by the time of this event. Captains are responsible for ensuring their boat has enough to run jugs. There are several bait shops in the vicinity as well. ...
